Reflection

I learned and observed that many people at my service have disabilities or are limited due to the color of their skin or economic backgrounds. People with disability face injustice in society because they are misjudged and limited based on their physical abilities.  All of the children and teachers at the placement are of different races/ethnic backgrounds. People of all different colors face injustice in society due to others ignorance and lack of compassion. Children especially, who are born one color are unfortunately automatically looked at differently and treated differently by some because of their skin color. Small children have no bias, but that bias is taught. That bias strips them of equal opportunity to live with dignity and justice. At my placement, the teachers, do a wonderful job of promoting diversity and equality. It is nice to see that people with kind hearts still are playing an active role in raising strong, loving, kind, and open-minded people.

My suggestion is that we try to spread that love to all and young people especially because they are the new generation. We have to keep teaching young people to love, not hate and must keep celebrating difference in a positive way.
